For a GSA Office of Inspector General retirement gift in Fort Worth, a customer supplied a reference image and obtained clearer badge artwork. The design grew from an 18-inch request to an approved 24-inch plaque so the details had room. We developed a digital carving model, shared renderings and progress photographs, and finished the piece in the customer’s chosen dark walnut stain.

Should I personalize a sign or commission a new carving?
Choose a listed name or cabin sign when its layout suits your gift and you want to change the wording. The product page shows its price, dimensions and personalization fields. Choose a custom commission when you need a new composition, logo, emblem or different size. We review the artwork and scope before giving an individual quote; a catalog sign’s price is not a quote for a new design.
How does a custom wood carving project begin?
1. Share the brief. Send your wording, reference image or sketch, preferred dimensions, display location and occasion through our custom enquiry page. Please include your deadline and any artwork you are authorized to use.
2. Confirm the details. We discuss the design, material, finish, quote and timing. Design Studio images are starting concepts; the final design and production details are confirmed with you.
3. Carve and finish. CNC carving creates the relief; hand finishing brings out the wood’s character. Our GSA retirement plaque story shows how artwork, scale and finish decisions came together in an actual commission.
What can I personalize?
The name sign accepts your family name or wording. The cabin sign has personalized banners and an establishment year. Enter the exact spelling and capitalization in the product’s purchase form. For a new design, artwork or logo, contact us to discuss what can be carved.
What materials and sizes are available?
Materials, finish and dimensions depend on the design. Check the individual listing; for a bespoke piece we discuss those choices before quoting. The collection groups designs by size, and custom dimensions can be discussed.
Can the piece go outside?
Indoor display is recommended for the personalized name sign. Tell us about any outdoor location before ordering so we can discuss the exposure and finish. Keep carved wood away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight.
When will it ship?
Catalog sizes through 24 inches have 3–5 business days of handling time; sizes 28 inches and larger have 10–14 business days. Carrier transit is additional. Custom commission timing is confirmed with your quote. Shipping is free within the United States; we do not ship internationally.
Can I return a personalized piece?
Custom designs and personalized orders cannot be returned or exchanged unless defective. Please check your wording carefully and read the shipping and returns policy.
